HC adjourns hearing on CBI calls data leak case to July 13
Hyderabad, July 10 : The High Court on Tuesday adjourned the plea of K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, an industrialist and relative of Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao, seeking a direction to declare the action of the police in registering a case against him at the instance of CBI joint director Lakshminarayana as illegal, to July 13. The court after hearing the arguments posted the petition for further hearing to July 13. The counsel of Rama Krishna Raju contented that his client had obtained the call data of the CBI joint director Lakshminarayana under the RTI Act, and there was no bar under the telecom policy to obtain the data. The counsel said that his client did not leaked the information that transpired between Lakshminarayana and journalists. However, the media has accused Rama Krishna Raju of being responsible for leaking the information, the counsel said. He said that his client would move defamation petition against those media houses for damaging his public image by carrying baseless reports. Meanwhile, the CBI would file a report before the court in this regard on Friday. INN
