Hyderabad, June 9 : The Election Commission on Saturday issued notice to Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi for allegedly making controversial remarks against YSR Congress party during election campaign in Tirupati in violation of Model Code of Conduct. While serving notices on Chiranjeevi, the Election Commission asked him to reply to it by Sunday afternoon. According to reports, Chiranjeevi alleged that the sanctity of Tirumala, the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara, would be affected if the people vote in favour of corrupt YSR Congress party leader. Following this remark, the YSR Congress leaders lodged a complaint with the Election Commission seeking action against Chiranjeevi.
